Abstract

In recent years, the exponential growth in Internet use has led clinicians to question the impact of this technological advancement on couples and families. However, most clinical research has focused on how sexual content or interactions online affect individuals. With the exception of Internet infidelity, family researchers have yet to assess the impact of Internet sexuality on couples with respect to their relationship or their sexual satisfaction. Consequently, little is known about the implications of online sexual content on couples' sexual and emotional relationships. Therefore, research is needed to explore the impact of Internet sexuality on dyadic sexual satisfaction and intimacy.
