Marsh Harriers Circus aeruginosus target Teals Anas crecca at roosts according to potential availability of vulnerable prey: Capsule The mean daily rate of foraging flyovers by Marsh Harriers in a given site is better predicted by the number of vulnerable Teal they can force to take flight (equivalent to patch size) than by the total number of Teal present.
