Abstract
A method is proposed for determining the allowed states of a rigid molecule formed from two or three identical fragments in identical electronic states. Worked examples are presented and it is suggested that the method elucidates the procedures of Wigner and Witmer, and Kotani; hitherto these have not received any detailed explanation for the most difficult cases.
