Abstract
Heated water pollution is one of the problems to which environmental protection efforts pay great attention. As traditional heated water pollution monitoring methods are inefficient, remote sensing plays an increasingly more and more important role, as it can monitor large areas in real time. This study focuses on how to use remote sensing technology effectively to monitor and evaluate heated water pollution. Therm-infrared bands of some TM images at different times are used to obtain the inverse water surface temperature around the DaYaWan nuclear power plant. With this technique, information about the intensity, range of diffusion and environmental effects of the plant's heated water discharge can be obtained.
