Abstract
We introduce a possible method to realize the negative group velocity of electromagnetic wave in the normal dispersive media. Theoretical analysis from the k-surface of the proposed normal dispersive uniaxial media reveals that the group velocity can be negative if the loss of the media is taken into account. Since the proposed normal dispersive media can be constructed in the GHz frequency by metamaterial, our result may provide an alternative way to the investigation of the abnormal group velocity.
