Abstract
The paper is a case study about the water quality impacts of a small municipal wastewater treatment facility's discharge into a tidal estuary. It presents an overview of the overall water quality assessment program for the St. George River Estuary, including the approach to water quality data collection, computer modeling, and findings regarding the ability of the estuary to accommodate the licensing of increased discharge flows from the Warren Sanitary District wastewater treatment facility in Warren, Maine.
