Abstract

ABSTRACTAn occurrence of urticaria pigmentosa in two sisters was studied. The clinical characteristics included the rare location of the lesions in both sisters and an onset after rubeola in the elder sister. Serum histamine levels throughout the family were markedly higher than normal.Investigations into the family medical history failed to disclose clear evidence of any hereditary factor. Perhaps many triggers in addition to hereditary factors are needed to initiate urticaria pigmentosa.
