Abstract

AbstractThe first bulk electron‐transfer photochromic compound with intrinsic second‐order nonlinear optical (NLO) photoswitching properties has been synthesized. This system employs an electron‐transfer photoactive asymmetric viologen ligand coordinated to a zinc(II) center.
