Abstract
Elopement is an ongoing challenge for many types of health care organizations, particularly long term care and some behavioral health settings and psychiatric hospitals. This article discusses the importance of assessment in reducing the risk of elopement and provides strategies to ensure appropriate assessment for individuals at risk.
