Abstract
Many organizations use color-coded wristbands to communicate clinical information about patients to staff members. However, there is potential for confusion due to the lack of standardization of colors and their meanings. Health care organizations can input policies, procedures, and systems to avoid unanticipated adverse events with wristbands. This article offers tips and strategies for using color-coded wristbands effectively to improve patient safety.
