Abstract

The title compound, C₁₀H₈N₂O₄S, serves as a starting material for the synthesis of antihyperglycemic pharmaceuticals. The nearly planar thiazolidine‐2,4‐dione ring is almost perpendicular to the nitrophenyl ring.
