Abstract

There are two independent molecules in the asymmetric unit of the title N‐substituted oxindole, C22H26N2O2, which was obtained unexpectedly. The heterocyclic rings in both molecules adopt N‐envelope conformations and the isoindole ring systems are essentially planar.
