Abstract

In the title complex, [Cd(C₄O₄)(C₁₀H₈N₂)]_n, the Cd atom exists in a trigonal‐prismatic geometry that is defined by the two N atoms of a 1,10‐phenanthroline ligand and the four carboxylate O atoms of two different acetylenedicarboxylate dianions. Adjacent Cd atoms are bridged by acetylenedicarboxylate dianions, giving rise to a two‐dimensional structure parallel to (100).
