Math Anxiety and Math Teaching Anxiety Among College Students with Different Majors

Abstract

A survey about math teaching anxiety and math anxiety was administered to 124 college students who were placed into groups: elementary education, engineering and science, and art and humanities. The study examined whether there were significant differences in math anxiety and math teaching anxiety among these students. The study also examined whether there were any significant differences between female and male students with respect to math anxiety and math teaching anxiety. The study found there were no significant differences in math and math teaching anxiety between male and female students. Furthermore, the study found there were no math and math teaching anxiety between engineering and education majors.
