Abstract

Two solitons in a nonlinear fiber behave like two particles. Theypropagate without distortion, collide elastically gaining quantumcorrelations and emerge separately from the fiber providing thecondition of spacelike separation. The entanglement appearingbetween positions and momenta of the two distanced solitonsallows us a close following of the famous Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen(EPR) reasoning with two correlated quantum particles. Theparticlelike behavior of the solitons makes our proposalconceptually different from the previous optical schemes withcorrelated plane waves (photons).
