Abstract

We derive an analytical expression for the lower bound of theconcurrence of mixed quantum states of composite $2\times K$systems. In contrast to other, implicitly defined entanglementmeasures, the numerical evaluation of our bound isstraightforward. We explicitly evaluate its tightness for generalmixed states of $2\times 3$ systems, and identify a large classof states where our expression gives the exact value of theconcurrence.
