Abstract
A new model of a single-mode injected laser is developed in which the field is split into two components: the first has the eigenfrequency of the slave laser and the other is forced at the frequency of the master laser. A competition generally occurs between these components whose result depends upon various control parameters such as the intensity and the frequency of the injected field.
