Abstract

Temperature dependent paramagnetic neutron scattering experiments onfcc ${\rm Fe}_{100-x}{\rm Ni}_x$ anti-Invar alloys ($0\le x\le 30$at%) show strong magnetic scattering in the foreward direction attemperatures as high as 1100 K, indicating ferromagnetic correlationsalthough, no long-range ferromagnetic ordering occurs in the fcc stateof the alloys with $x\le 25$ at%. The intensity of the magneticscattering in the foreward direction decreases with increasingtemperature for x=20 and 25 at%, it remains nearly constant withtemperature for x=15 at% and shows the unusual behavior ofincreasing with increasing temperature for x=10 at%. Thetemperature dependence of the correlation length also behavessimilarly.
