Abstract

Heat and hydrogen are produced in the hydrolysis of aluminum. In their Communication on page 2219 ff. J. Zheng, X. Li, and co‐workers show that the hydrolysis heat can be converted into electrical energy by a battery composed of an aluminum electrode and an yttrium hydride electrode. The hydrolysis battery also provides the first example of electrical energy generation together with hydrogen absorption.
