Abstract
Planning for a medical entomology organization within the American Association of Economic Entomologists began with the appointment of a committee composed of F. S. Blanton, S. F. Carpenter, A. B. Gurney, W. W. Middlekauff, J. w. Enke, J. D. DeCoursey, Donald McCreary, and G. H. Bradley (chairman), Dec. 29, 1947. This committee presented a petition to the Executive Committee of AAEE recommending that the field of medical entomology, including veterinary entomology, receive recognition by the association.
