Abstract
The methods that support agriculture and food supply chains management through radio frequency identification (RFID) were studied. RFID-based tracking systems can monitor animals, control outbreaks of animal diseases, and monitor the freshness of fruits and vegetables. Based on electronic product code (EPC) and the EPCglobal Network, RFID can perform traceability of products from the beginning to the end of supply chains in agriculture and the food industry, which can be an anti-counterfeit measure for product branding and perform hazards control in food products. Challenges and future work about RFID applications in agriculture and food supply chains were also discussed.
