Abstract
This article examines an electromagnetic flowmeter which has a metal conduit and no insulating coating. With the use of a synchronous current source, the flowmeter reproduces the required distribution of the electric field on the inside surface of the channel. This significantly alleviates the shunting action of the wall on the useful signal induced in the test medium.
