Brief introduction
IJRS has come at a time when Religion and Society are polarized. This has resulted in continuous debates among different interest groups from different social, political, and environmental contexts. Whereas these debates remain in the public domain, there is no proper forum to assimilate and understand these discourses intellectually and professionally; as a result, such debates remain media-oriented. The aim of IJRS, therefore, is to create an appropriate forum where debates on religion and society can be properly and intellectually coordinated for academic and professional consumption. The name of this proposed Journal, International Journal of Religion and Society, speaks for itself. Its ethos cuts across international boundaries. The concepts of Religion and Society have been discussed in the fields of sociology, psychology, and theology as single concepts. IJRS seeks to create a platform where the interface of both concepts, Religion and Society, can be understood and how these impact individual, social, communal, human, and national development. IJRS is a multi-disciplinary journal. Multi-disciplinarity helps to better apprise issues in a broader context rather than offer a subject from a narrow perspective. This is not to say that narrowing the focus on topical issues is entirely unacceptable. Circumstances and research rationale dictate the methodology needed for understanding a particular issue. IJRS prefers to understand the interface between religion and society from a broad perspective. The International Journal of Religion and Society is a quarterly journal of empirical nature. It accepts research-based papers, articles, expert commentary, opinions, reviews, and editorials. It also carries advertorial messages.
