Brief introduction
Sustainable manufacturing is a methodology for manufacturing with energy efficiency that minimizes waste and pollution. Sustainable manufacturing includes the manufacturing of sustainable products (for example, manufacture of renewable energy, etc.) and the sustainable manufacturing of all products. Renewable energy is commonly defined as “energy generated from natural resources – such as sunlight, wind, rain, tides, and geothermal heat – which are renewable.” This form of non-conventional energy includes all natural energy sources that minimise environmental impacts relative to conventional hydrocarbon resources. The Journal of Sustainable Manufacturing and Renewable Energy fosters the exchange of information on sustainable technologies to innovate manufacturing products, processes, systems, and all technologies for renewable energy equipments since solar energy systems, fuel cell systems, photovoltaic systems, etc. The Journal also covers energy storage, as well as the performance of renewable energy devices and systems. JSMRE is focused on, but not limited to, environmentally-conscious manufacturing, environmental analysis of manufacturing processes and products, sustainable design of products and processes for prevention pollution, remanufacturing, products and recycling systems, rapid manufacturing technologies, energy efficiency, renewable energy in manufacturing, multi-scale materials and manufacturing for renewable energy, design and product development for renewable energy, photovoltaic technology conversion, solar thermal applications, biomass conversion, wind energy technology, etc. JSMRE publishes full research articles, review articles, technical notes, and case studies. Proposals for special issues on selected topics reflecting recent advances in sustainable manufacturing and renewable energy or on select articles of conferences can be submitted directly to the Editor-in-Chief.
