Abstract

A facile and efficient method for the preparation of amides from ketones by the Schmidt reaction is described for the first time using P 2 O 5 /SiO 2 and sodium azide under solvent‐free microwave irradiation. Advantages of this procedure are selectivity, good yields, a simple operation, short reaction time, and solvent‐free conditions.
