Abstract
In the wastewater industry there is an ever present need to manage your budget to attain the best value for money spent. Therefore, there is a definitive need to be sure that your wastewater facility is energy-efficient and consumes only the energy it needs to meet its discharge limits. This is true irrespective of the size of the facility and may even be more important to small (<1 MGD) facilities. Many opportunities are available to small facilities to reduce energy consumption and operate more efficiently. The Wisconsin Focus on Energy Industrial Program, through its focused water/wastewater program, has assessed and defined a number of energy-saving opportunities for small facilities. The results of the surveys and implemented projects are presented to highlight the energy-saving value that is available to small facilities.
