Abstract

In this work, thermal catalytic systems were used for CO 2 reduction in the presence of H 2 S. The thermal reduction products were mainly methane and hydrogen, traces of ethane were also detected. The efficiency of CdSe in production of methane thermally was found to be higher than CdTe and this was even higher than CdS. The kinetics of the chemical reactions catalyzed were utilized to elucidate the reaction mechanisms of the carbon dioxide methanation processes.
