Abstract

The genus Annaphila Grote is unique to Western North America and many of the included species have a restricted distribution. There is an overlap in time of emergence of the different species; the earliest far-western species emerge in January and the latest emerge in mid-May. Of the species in which the larval food plant is known there mayor may not be specialization in the mode of oviposition. Most of the species oviposit on the ventral surfaces of the leaves of their food plants, but a few species oviposit in the floral bracts.
