Abstract

The prevention of doping is part of the current binding body of rules and regulations for top-class sports set by the World Anti-Doping Agency. This body of rules and regulations is transported into national practice according to national – in this case German – law. The World Anti-Doping Agency states that every sports association has to appoint a representative for Anti-Doping policy. The task of this representative is to act as a contact partner for athletes and officials alike. However the rules and regulations don't specify the tasks of the Anti-Doping-Representative. Often representatives are accused of only functioning as alibis. The present article reflects this problem with the aim to improve the prevention of doping.
