Abstract
This article describes the results of a study in which teachers from different subject areas in two schools agreed to coordinate their efforts in teaching students’ research skills and to vary their guidance systematically. The present study shows that the amount of guidance provided by teachers is a key factor in the training of students’ research skills. However, the realisation of a coordinated approach in everyday school life proves to be far from easy.
