Abstract
The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) prohibits the use of cannabinoids in all sports during competition. Although controversial, this prohibition is based on the three WADA criteria that are used to consider banning a substance. The banning of cannabis and its analogues is supported by their potential enhancement of sport performance, detrimental health effects on athletes and violation of the spirit of sport.
